Harry Fairbanks

Harry Fairbanks has over 25 years of work experience, starting with their role as an ESL Teacher at Nova Group Japan in 2005. Harry then worked as an ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) at Interac from 2008 to 2010. In 2011, they interned at Research In Motion as a Help Desk Representative, providing technical support for BlackBerry products.

From 2012 to 2013, Harry worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at WindyMaple.com, where they developed online software solutions and taught clients computer literacy. Harry then joined Master Merchant Systems as a Software Development Team Lead from 2013 to 2015, leading a team of ruby developers and developing Ruby on Rails applications.

In 2015, Harry joined Unique Solutions Design Ltd. as a Software Development Team Lead, responsible for building and maintaining multiple application code bases. Harry then moved to The Rounds in 2016, where they worked as a Software Development Team Lead, managing testing software and procedures.

From 2017 to 2020, Harry was a Software Development Team Lead at InTouch GPS, leading a team in transitioning the company from Ruby on Rails to a React AWS Node stack.

Currently, Harry is employed at Thrive Career Wellness Platform, initially as a Software Engineer from 2020 to 2023, and then promoted to Software Engineering Manager in April 2023.

Throughout their career, Harry has gained a diverse skill set and has experience in various technologies such as Ruby on Rails, React, AWS, PHP, Java, C#, and MySQL.

Harry Fairbanks obtained a Bachelor's degree from St. Thomas University (CA) between 2000 and 2004. Harry specialized in a double major in History and Philosophy. Later, between 2010 and 2012, they attended Nova Scotia Community College - NSCC, where they earned a Diploma in Information Technology with a focus on Computer Programming.
