Mercedes Lorenzo

Mercedes Lorenzo has a diverse range of work experience in the design industry. Mercedes started their career in 2013 at SPY as an Assistant Designer during their internship. In 2014, they worked briefly at After Six as a Designer. Later that year, they joined Timekol S.A. as a Designer, where they were responsible for technical specifications, product development, and international client relations. Mercedes expanded their skillset at Escuela Universitaria Centro de Diseño - Farq - Udelar as an Honorary Assistant in Flat Weave Design from 2012 to 2014. In 2017, they joined Skunkfunk as part of the Design Department. Currently, they hold the position of Creative Director at Terra, where they have progressively advanced from Brand Design to Co-Creative Director and now Creative Director.

Mercedes Lorenzo has a comprehensive education history. Mercedes obtained a Postgraduate degree in Pattern Design and Surface Design from Inedi in 2017. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design with a focus on textiles from Escuela Universitaria Centro de Diseño - Farq - Udelar between 2010 and 2015. Before entering university, Mercedes completed high school at Liceo Sagrada Familia, specializing in scientific and architectural studies from 2008 to 2009. Mercedes also attended Liceo Pedro Poveda for secondary education from 2004 to 2007. Lastly, they completed their primary and preschool education at Escuela Bélgica N36 from 1997 to 2003. Mercedes also holds additional certifications, including First Certificate in English from the University of Cambridge and a degree in Industrial Design textiles from Escuela Universitaria Centro de Diseño.
