Gawie Krugel

Gawie Krugel is an experienced mining manager with a career spanning over a decade in various management roles within the mining industry. Currently serving as Mining Manager at Thungela since September 2021, Gawie has previously held the same position at Greenside Colliery, Zibulo Colliery, and Kriel Colliery Anglo American Inyosi Coal. The responsibilities include overseeing opencast, underground, and minipit operations, as well as managing technical services. Gawie holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from the University of Pretoria, complemented by additional qualifications in underground mining techniques.
