Tarryn Genis

Tarryn Genis is an accomplished communication professional with extensive experience in the field. Currently serving as Head of Communication at Thungela since June 2021, Tarryn previously held the position of Communications Manager at Anglo American from January 2018 to June 2021 and worked as a Communications Specialist at De Beers, Venetia Mine from January 2013 to December 2017. Earlier roles include Events, Functions, and Stakeholder Engagement Practitioner at De Beers and Marketing and Communications Coordinator at the Foundation for Professional Development, where responsibilities included website management, conference management, and budgeting. Tarryn started a career in education as a Facilitator in Public Relations and English at North West University, contributing to both teaching and curriculum development. Tarryn holds an Honours degree in English with Corporate Communications Management from North-West University and completed a Senior Leadership Programme in Organizational Leadership at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town in 2019.
