Lara Tukarski is an experienced education and outreach professional with a strong focus on environmental education and natural resource management. Currently serving as the Education and Outreach Specialist II at Thurston County Government since September 2024, Lara develops outreach campaigns and educational materials on various environmental topics. Previously, as the Project Learning Tree WA State Coordinator for the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, Lara implemented forest-focused education programming. In the role of South Sound Program Manager at the Pacific Education Institute, Lara cultivated partnerships to enhance conservation education. Lara has also held positions as an Environmental Educator and STEM Program Director at various educational institutions. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Molecular Ecology from The Johns Hopkins University and Towson University, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland.
