Jeremy Katz

Co-founder at Tidelift

Jeremy Katz is a software engineer who is currently the co-founder at Tidelift. Prior to their current position, Katz worked at Google as a staff software engineer from May 2014 to July 2017. At Google, they were responsible for taking Stackdriver's product and transforming it into the basis of the solution for monitoring of Google Cloud Platform. Jeremy was also responsible for migrating from a product built upon open source technologies to one that leverages a Google infrastructure. In addition, Katz was the lead for all integrations of Google Cloud Platform services into Stackdriver.

Before working at Google, Katz worked at Stackdriver from August 2012 to May 2014 as the "Doer". Jeremy was the first engineer responsible for defining the product, building all of the parts, and helping to recruit a world class team. At Stackdriver, the team built a product to monitor and manage cloud infrastructure for customers building their applications in the public cloud. Katz helped determine what and how they should build and then was hands-on in building all parts of the stack from the data collection tier all the way to the user interface used by our customers. Some of the technologies that they used in their platform included Python (django, flask, gevent), cloud computing providers (AWS, Rackspace Cloud, Google Compute Engine), AngularJS, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, MySQL, and RabbitMQ.

Jeremy Katz has a type SM from the field of Systems Design and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a BS from the field of Computer Science from North Carolina State University, and a High School diploma from North Carolina School of Science and Math.
