Dave Whitcher Saga has extensive experience as a songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger, and engineer, with a career at Dave Whitcher Saga since November 1983. In addition to a successful music career, Dave has been a math teacher at Tigard-Tualatin School District since June 2006. Educational qualifications include a Guitar Performance and Instruction degree from Musicians Institute, a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Phoenix, a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from Portland State University, and an Associate of Arts from Portland Community College. Additionally, attendance was noted at Washington State University from 1985 to 1987.

Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) serves part of the suburban Portland metropolitan area including the cities of Tigard, Tualatin, Durham, and King City, as well as the unincorporated communities of Metzger and Bull Mountain. TTSD provides programming from Pre-school to 12th grade with an emphasis on student achievement, equity, talent, and climate and culture. All K-12 students experience personalized digital learning with a focus on critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity, as well as opportunities to experience, college, career, and technical classes, preparing them for success after high school. TTSD hires and retains staff who are catalysts for learning and who nurture a school community where everyone feels safe, valued, and connected.
