Stefania Criscuolo is a highly experienced researcher in the fields of neuroscience and neurotechnology, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) since December 2019. Previously, Stefania worked as a Journal Development Specialist at Frontiers from August 2018 to December 2019 and completed a PhD as a fellow at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia from January 2014 to December 2017, focusing on synaptic neuroscience under the guidance of Prof. Fabio Benfenati and Dr. Fabrizia Cesca. Earlier research experience includes a Research Fellowship at TIGEM's Synthetic and System Biology laboratory from January 2012 to May 2013. Education includes a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Neuroscience and Neurotechnology from the Italian Institute of Technology (2014-2018), a Laurea magistrale cum Laude in Medical Biotechnology from the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II (2009-2011), and a Laurea di primo livello in Health Biotechnology from the same institution (2005-2009). Additional studies were completed at Dovenail School in Bristol in 2013, with ongoing education at the University of Camerino since 2018.
