Werna Oberholzer

Werna Oberholzer is an experienced professional in the field of corporate communications and employee engagement. Werna has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. Most recently, they served as the Director of Corporate Communications at Tiger Brands, where they led the group's communication function and oversaw strategy development, reputation management, media relations, employee communication, and digital communication. Prior to that, Werna was the Director and Panel of Experts Member at Talenttalks Africa, where they developed content and resources for employee engagement and internal communication. Werna also founded their own consulting company, Red Crane Consulting, where they worked with communications and human resources teams to build more engaging and productive workplaces. Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Werna worked at Anheuser-Busch InBev as the Africa Internal Communication Director and People Projects Director, leading employee communication, engagement, and experience across multiple African markets. Werna has also held communication roles at SAB Medical Aid Scheme, South African Breweries, Meropa Communications, Kilimanjaro Communication Management Consultants, and Text 100. Werna has a strong background in strategy development, channel optimization, and content strategies, and they have successfully managed significant projects and initiatives throughout their career.

Werna Oberholzer completed their Bachelor of Commerce in Communication Management at the University of Pretoria from 1996 to 1999. In 2012, they participated in the SABMiller Corporate Affairs Programme at the Cambridge Judge Business School and the Leading Women Programme at GIBS Business School. In 2013, they completed the SAB (Pty) Ltd Management Development Programme at GIBS Business School. Werna is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration and Management, General at GIBS Business School from 2023 to 2024. Additionally, they obtained various certifications in subjects such as language, neuroscience, critical thinking, industry 4.0, change management, and design thinking.
