Alexander Bastidas Fry, PhD has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. From 2009 to 2016 they were a Graduate Student at the University of Washington, where they were an Astrophysics research assistant and teaching assistant, as well as a freelance science writer. In 2016 they worked as a QA Engineering at OSNEXUS Corporation. In 2017 they worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Tignis, Inc. and as a Scholar in the industry-leading data science 8 week training program for the the brightest minds leaving academia at The Data Incubator. During this training program, they completed an analysis of hard drive failure rates and predictions of failure with over 15 Gig data from Backblaze.

Alexander Bastidas Fry, PhD obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Astronomy from the University of Washington between 2009 and 2015. Alexander also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Astronomy and Physics from The University of Texas at Austin, which they obtained between 2004 and 2008.
