With a historical focus on microscopy and cell-based assays, particularly HCS, I founded Tigris BioScience to apply my skills to other areas whilst still supporting a broad base of imaging applications. Starting with one start-up client and one SME, I focused on novel solutions and new application areas and love products that really solve a lab-based problem, particularly through novel assays and automation. For example, one of my first projects was introducing the FlowStainer from InstruNor (the only fully automated sample prep device for clinical cytometry, covering antibody storage, cocktail mixing, staining, wash and lysis steps.) With this, I became much more involved in flow cytometry and for 18months took a full-time contract with IntelliCyt. Just now my own work with Tigris is on hold as I work with IsoPlexis, but I'm always happy to help wherever I can.
