Irvan Bastian Arief

Irvan Bastian Arief, PhD is currently the VP of Data Science & Machine Learning Engineering at tiket.com, where they lead the company's Artificial Intelligence initiative and oversees the data science, machine learning engineering, and R&D departments. Irvan Bastian is responsible for democratizing artificial intelligence within the organization and guiding business leaders in leveraging the power of machine learning. Prior to this role, they served as the Associate Vice President of Data Science at tiket.com, where they developed and implemented the company's long-term artificial intelligence strategy. Irvan Bastian also had various roles at other companies, including Universitas Bunda Mulia, Shiftacademy, Tokopedia, Bangkit Academy, Aurecon, RMIT University, Monash University, Beetle Creative, and GE Capital. Throughout their career, Irvan has been involved in research, development, teaching, and consulting roles in the field of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Irvan Bastian Arief, PhD has an extensive education background. Irvan Bastian completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Resources Engineering from National Cheng Kung University from 2002 to 2006. Irvan Bastian then pursued a Master's Degree in Business Information Systems Professional from Monash University, which they completed in 2012. Continuing their academic journey, Irvan went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from RMIT University, spanning from 2014 to 2018.

In addition to their degrees, Irvan has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2008, they acquired the Sun Certified JAVA Programmer (SCJP) certification from Sun Microsystems. In 2009, they received the Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) - Flex and AIR certification from Adobe. Irvan Bastian has also obtained various certifications related to research integrity, critical thinking, career development, equal employment opportunity, health and safety, privacy, and professional conduct. These certifications were earned from renowned institutions such as RMIT University, Stanford, and the Australian Technology Network (ATN). The most recent certification, obtained in April 2023, is for the Golden Key International Honour Society Presenter from the Golden Key International Honour Society.
