Stephen Pirpinias

Stephen Pirpinias is a Solutions Architect at TileDB since December 2024 and previously served as a Bioinformatics Engineer at Code Ocean from May 2022 to October 2024, where responsibilities included developing open-source bioinformatics tools for NGS and writing Dockerfiles for application containerization. Prior to that, Stephen worked as an Application Scientist, implementing bioinformatics software tools for various sequencing experiments and conducting software testing. Experience also includes a bioinformatics role at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, contributing to the Laboratory of Bin Zhang with a focus on regression modeling, and a Research Associate position in the Laboratory of Eric Nestler, where a mouse breeding program was developed. Stephen holds a Master of Science in Computational Biology from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Queens College.
