Andrew Gray has worked in various roles since 2010. Andrew started as an Audit Associate at PwC New Zealand, where they conducted entire audits on smaller clients from planning to completion. Andrew then moved to a Senior Consultant role at PwC New Zealand, where they focused on business performance and strategy, and providing CFO/COO operational advice. In 2020, they took on a role as a Freelance Advisor for Early-Stage Ventures, where they provided strategy consulting for Gyana and commercial negotiations for GTS ALIVE. Andrew also took on a role as Product & Strategy at Harvex Marketplace, a B2B marketplace for the international trade of fresh produce. In the same year, they became an Angel Investor and Board Member at Tendelo. In 2021, they became an Investment Manager at Tilia Impact Ventures, an early-stage VC investment fund focusing on companies whose business model goes hand-in-hand with positive social or environmental change. Andrew also became a Board Member at Cyrkl. Lastly, they were a COO/CFO and Board Member at D21, an international civic-tech startup, from 2016 to 2020. During their time there, they raised over $4m USD of capital, ran the Sales and BD function, oversaw annual revenue growth of 55x, managed an ultimate annual budget of $2m and 24 people, led the successful expansion into the French and US markets, and led the transition to non-profit.
Andrew Gray has an MBA from the University of Cambridge, with a concentration in Investment Finance. Andrew also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Quantitative Economics) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Otago. Additionally, they are a Chartered Accountant certified by the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.
