Jeffrey W. Smith has extensive work experience in the technology and engineering industries. From 1981 to 1992, they were the Managing Director and a Principal of Smith Valve Asia, a $50M manufacturer of valves and control systems serving major oil and petroleum companies in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. From 1992 to 2002, they were the CEO/Partner of Praim Technologies, an IT holding company and acquisition vehicle based in Trento, Italy. From 2002 to 2005, they were the CEO and a Principal of KWI International, a worldwide water treatment engineering company operating in 45 countries. From 2006 to 2008, they were the Chief Restructuring Officer for GENSYM, a provider of AI software and services to Global 2000 companies. From 2009 to 2019, they were the CEO and a principal investor in Flight Landata, a privately held market segment leader specializing in airborne ultra high resolution digital imaging systems and aviation services. From 2000 to 2018, they were the Founding Partner of NextBoston, an advisory and investment firm based in Boston and Milan. Since 2019, they have been a General Partner at SIP Global Partners, and since 2020, they have been a Director at Tilt Five.

Jeffrey W. Smith attended Brown University from 1977 to 1981, graduating with an AB in Economics.
