Muriel Wheatley

Operations Supervisor, Centralia at Timberland Regional Library

Muriel Wheatley has a diverse work experience in various library and administrative roles. Muriel began their career in 2010 as a Freelance Writer/Editor for Demand Media. In 2014, they interned as a Bow Marker at the Seattle Symphony Music Library. Muriel then worked from 2015 to 2017 as a Cataloger/Database Creator for the Seattle Chamber Music Society Music Library, where they organized and created a catalog for classical chamber sheet music. In 2016, they worked as a Team Member/Cataloger for the NAVOS Youth Library, where they created a youth library for an inpatient program. Muriel received the Service Award for this project. From 2017 to 2020, they served as the Circulation Supervisor for the Centralia Timberland Library, where they supervised and coordinated library circulation functions. In 2018, they became the Board Treasurer for both the Washington Library Association and the Centralia Downtown Association. Since 2021, they have held the role of Board Treasurer for the Washington Library Association.

Muriel Wheatley holds a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington, which they obtained from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Language and Literature at the University of Washington from 2005 to 2008. Their earlier education includes earning an Associate of Arts (AA) from South Puget Sound Community College, where they studied from 2001 to 2004. However, their field of study during their time at South Puget Sound Community College is not specified.
