Edward Yang

Professor Edward Yang received his education from National Cheng Kung (BSEE), Oklahoma State (MS), and Yale (Ph.D.) universities. After 3 years as a circuit designer at IBM, he spent his entire career at Columbia University serving as the EE Head between 1986 and 1996. He came to HKU in 1997 for a decade, founding the Jockey Club MRI Engineering Centre and e-Business Research Institute; also became a Founder, and later Director of SMIC of Shanghai. He spent 4 years at ASTRI, HK’s applied research institute, 2 as its CEO. He is currently Professor Emeritus at Columbia, Honorary Professor at HKU, and Visiting Scientist at Jinan University‘s GHM Institute of CNS Neuro-Regeneration. He is an IEEE Life Fellow.
