Solar Olugebefola

Solar Olugebefola has been working in the tech industry since 2003. Solar began as a Research Assistant at MIT, then moved on to become a Consultant at Media Modifications, Ltd. in 2007. In 2008, they became a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they were a Research Scientist and Lab Manager in the Autonomous Materials Systems group at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. Solar'sprimary research focused on physical reinforcement of artificial microvascular networks for self-healing materials. In 2016, they became a Software Engineer at TimescaleDB.

Solar Olugebefola has an extensive educational background. Solar received their High School degree from Hunter College High School in 1995. Solar then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they obtained their S.B. in Materials Science and Engineering in 1999, and their Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering in 2007. In 2015, they attended App Academy for Web Development, but did not receive a degree.
