Ron founded Tinopolis in 1990. He took the company public in 2005 closely followed by a hostile takeover of the largest listed production company at the time, The Television Corporation PLC. In 2008, Ron and his management team took Tinopolis private in partnership with private equity house Vitruvian.
The next few years saw the group grow into one of the largest independent producers both in the UK and the US. The group now contains some of the leading producers in those markets. In late 2017, Ron oversaw the buy-out of Vitruvian’s shareholding following a successful 9 year partnership, with the Tinopolis management team taking full ownership of the company once more.
Ron is chairman of the Welsh Government's advisory Creative Industries Panel and an honorary fellow of Swansea University and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
