Fergal Walsh is the Chief Technology Officer at Tinyman. Fergal has also worked as a Tech Lead at Metglobal and a software developer at State Street. In addition, they have been a visiting researcher at Telefónica and a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Centre for Geocomputation.

Fergal Walsh has over 10 years of experience in the tech industry. Fergal started their career as a software developer at State Street in 2008. Fergal then transitioned into research and became a visiting researcher at Telefónica in 2012 and a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Centre for Geocomputation in 2009. In 2013, they became the Tech Lead at Metglobal and was responsible for providing the architectural vision of the project, leading and mentoring teammates, and ensuring code quality through code reviews. Fergal also worked with teammates, Product Manager and System Administrators to streamline development and deployment processes and reduce API downtime. In July 2015, they left Metglobal to become the Chief Technology Officer at Tinyman.

At Tinyman, Fergal Walsh is responsible for leading the technical team and developing the company’s technology strategy. Fergal works closely with the CEO to ensure that the company’s products are innovative and meet the needs of its customers. Fergal also oversees the budget for all technical projects and ensures that they are completed on time and within budget.

Fergal Walsh completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geocomputation at Maynooth University. Prior to that, they completed a BSc in Computer Science and Software Engineering at the same school.
