Gillian Ayres Jones

Gillian Ayres Jones has extensive work experience in the legal field. Gillian is currently working at Tipalti as a Senior Legal Counsel, specializing in product and commercial matters. Prior to that, they served as a Commercial Counsel for the same company. Before joining Tipalti in 2022, Gillian worked at Leland, Parachini, Steinberg, Matzger & Melnick LLP as an Associate, where they focused on business and corporate transactions, real estate, and tax. Gillian provided advice on entity selection and formation, tax planning, reorganizations and mergers, and negotiation and drafting of transactional documents. Gillian also has experience in representing clients in real estate transactions, including commercial leasing and tax-deferred exchanges. Gillian previously served as a Law Clerk at East Bay Children's Law Offices, where they represented children in the dependency system and advocated for their best interests in court. Gillian also worked as a Law Clerk at Wood, Smith, Henning & Berman, gaining valuable experience in a law firm setting. Additionally, they served as a Field Office Intern at International Justice Mission, where they gained exposure to international legal work. Gillian received their law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2013, where they were a Certified Law Student. Gillian Ayres Jones completed their Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business from Westmont College between 2004 and 2007. During their time at Westmont College, they also took part in a semester abroad program at American University in 2006, where they studied International Economic and Environmental Development in Brazil. Later, from 2010 to 2013, they pursued a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
