Ayad Al-Quraishi is an accomplished academic and editorial leader in the field of remote sensing and geoinformatics. Currently serving as an Editorial Board Member for Discover Soil Journal under Springer Nature, and a Professor of Applied Remote Sensing & GIS at Tishk International University, Al-Quraishi has extensive experience as a Guest Editor for Remote Sensing MDPI and Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Geoinformatics and Environmental Research, emphasizing the advancements in estimating land-ocean variables through innovative remote sensing techniques. Additionally, an active member of various editorial boards, including the Journal of Geoscience and Environment Protection, Al-Quraishi holds the position of Ambassador for the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society in Iraq. Al-Quraishi's academic supervision of over forty postgraduate students reflects a deep commitment to education, supported by a Ph.D. in Engineering from the China University of Geosciences.

Tishk International University

Tishk International University is a private university which was founded in 2008 in Erbil, Iraq. The university started educational service with 5 faculties containing 9 departments on the first campus located on the 60 Meter Avenue. The faculties and the departments are as follows: Engineering Faculty (Computer Engineering and Civil Engineering), Dentistry Faculty (Dentistry Department), Administrative Sciences and Economics (Economy Department and Business and Management Department), Education Faculty (English Language Teaching Department, Mathematics Teaching Department and Computer Teaching), and Science Faculty (Information Technologies Department). The first Bachelor’s Program started with the 32 students the English Language Teaching Department of Education Faculty. 131 Prep students from the following 4 programs started studying English language: Computer Engineering, Dentistry Department, Business and Management Department, and Information Technologies Departments. The Continuing Education Center was established.
