Markus Merte has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Markus started their career at Telenorma GmbH in 1992 as a System Expert and worked there until 1999. In 2000, they joined Bosch Telecom GmbH as a Call Center Consultant. Markus then moved to Tenovis GmbH & Co KG in 2003, where they worked as a Senior Business Consultant until 2004. Markus then joined Avaya in 2004 as a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer and remained there until 2007. Since 2007, they have been working at TMK Thomas Mack Kommunikation GmbH as the Head of Business Unit Contact Center.

Markus Merte has a education background in Information Technology and Mathematics. From 1989 to 1992, they attended Telenorma GmbH, where they obtained a degree in Informatiker (Math.-techn. Assistent).

In addition to their formal education, Markus has also earned several certifications. In 2018, they obtained a certification in "Grundsätze und Strukturen des neuen Datenschutzrechts nach DSGVO und BDSG" from MBK. In 2017, they obtained a certification in "Foundation in ISMS according to ISO/IEC 27001" from TÜV Süd. In 2016, they earned an "ITIL Foundation certificate in IT Service Management" from AXELOS Global Best Practice. Furthermore, in 2015, they obtained the "PRINCE2 Foundation Examination" certification and in 2019, they earned the "PRINCE2® Practitioner Certificate in Project Management," both from AXELOS Global Best Practice.
