Carlos Felipe Blanco is an Assistant Professor at Leiden University since September 2021, specializing in Life Cycle Assessment, Ecological Risk Assessment, Sustainable Innovation, Safe-by-Design, and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment. Since July 2016, Carlos has also served as a Senior Consultant at Teyuna Environmental Data Solutions, focusing on sustainability research and data analysis in the mining and energy sectors. Previously, Carlos held academic and consulting roles, including a PhD and postdoctoral researcher position at Leiden Science and senior consultant roles at Timber & Waters SpA, BHP Billiton, and Rio Tinto, where expertise in environmental and community relations, risk assessment, and sustainability management was developed. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Sustainability and a Master's in Industrial Ecology from Leiden University, as well as a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes.
