Frans van Gemerden

Frans van Gemerden currently serves as the Division Director for Protection, Munitions and Weapons at TNO, a position held since 2024. Previously, from 2012 to 2023, Frans held multiple roles at TNO, including Program Manager for Systems Innovation and Strategy Manager for Defence, Safety & Security, where responsibilities included supporting strategic decision-making and management within the unit. Earlier experience includes serving at the Ministry of Defence from 2005 to 2012 in various staff officer roles focusing on operational requirements, physical protection, and force protection. Frans began career in the Royal Netherlands Air Force as a Platoon Commander, overseeing a Ground Defence Platoon with deployments to Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. Educational background includes degrees from Nyenrode Business University, Royal Military Academy, and De Haagse Hogeschool, culminating in a Bachelor’s in Public Management.
