Ketemaw A. Mekonnen

Ketemaw A. Mekonnen is a research scientist at TNO since August 2022, specializing in integrated photonics and photonic integrated circuits for applications such as optical-wireless communication and LIDAR. Previously, Ketemaw served as a postdoctoral researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology from June 2014 to June 2022, focusing on optical system simulation, design verification, and the demonstration of ultrahigh-capacity optical-wireless communication systems. Ketemaw earned a PhD in dynamic optical/radio-wireless communication from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2018, following a Master's degree in Photonic Networks from Aston University and another Master's in Photonic Networks Engineering from Scuola Superiore 'Sant' Anna'. Early career experience includes roles as a network engineer and junior telecom engineer at Ethio Telecom, where Ketemaw managed core network operations and provided technical support for wireless networks.
