Waseem Shariff

Waseem Shariff is an R&D ML Engineer at Xperi Corporation since September 2022, specializing in In-Cabin Cognition, Wellbeing, and Non-contact Health Analytics. Concurrently, Waseem serves as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Galway, focusing on smart mobility and perceptual systems for intelligent traffic management. Previous experience includes an R&D Intern role at Xperi Corporation, where Waseem worked on a synthetic "Face-ID" project, and a Summer Fellowship at Athens Information Technology, leading a team on facial recognition using deep learning techniques. Waseem is currently pursuing a PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Galway, having previously obtained a Master's in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor's in Computer Science.
