Mary Rose Brown serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for NuStar Energy L.P., one of the largest independent liquids terminal and pipeline operators in the nation. Brown oversees the company’s Corporate Communications, Government Relations, Human Resources, Corporate Services, Strategic Sourcing and Aviation departments. She has helped build the company’s reputation as an industry leader with an unwavering commitment to safety, environmental excellence and community service. As importantly, she has helped establish a culture in which employees are considered the company’s No. 1 asset, resulting in NuStar being ranked on FORTUNE’s list of the 100 Best Companies to Work for 11 times, and being recognized as a top employer by the San Antonio Express-News and Texas Monthly magazine.

During her career, Brown has earned countless honors, including receiving the Executive Award for Large Business from the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce as part of their Tribute to Women Business Leaders and being inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame for her many professional and personal achievements. She also has been honored with the Outstanding Texas PR Practitioner Award from the Texas Public Relations Association (TPRA), the Women’s Leadership Award from the San Antonio Business Journal, the Angel of the Shelter Award from the San Antonio Children’s Shelter, the Corporate Friend of Youth Award from San Antonio Youth, the Mother of the Year Award from AVANCE, and the 2019 Trefoil Award from the Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas.

Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Texas State University and was recognized as one of the University’s Distinguished Alumni in 2015. She serves as a member of the University’s Advisory Council for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
