Wouter Niekus

Wouter Niekus is a co-founder of Toertje, an app designed to encourage cycling among the Dutch population through personalized routes and insights into health and environmental benefits, currently active since April 2024. Additionally, Wouter co-founded CanvasHeroes in June 2016, a digital agency in Amsterdam focused on creating partnerships and bridging online and offline experiences. Wouter serves as an expert and team leader for WorldSkills Netherlands, promoting vocational education and skills to young people since August 2009. Previous experience includes co-founding Script.Digital, freelancing as a front-end and back-end developer, working as a developer for the WorldSkills Foundation in Singapore, as well as holding roles in project management and development with Us Media and Headland. Wouter's educational background includes studies at Grafisch Lyceum Amsterdam from 2003 to 2006.
