Shawn Silvestri

Shawn Silvestri has extensive work experience in various roles within the pharmaceutical industry. Shawn is currently serving as the President and Chief Operating Officer at Tolmar since February 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Sandoz as the Global Head of Product Development from April 2016 to April 2019. Shawn also held the position of Vice President at Pfizer, where they were responsible for Global Established Products and served as the Pharmaceutical Sciences Head from September 2015 to March 2016. Before joining Pfizer, Shawn Silvestri worked at Hospira where they held various roles, including Corporate Vice President of Global Pharmaceutical R&D and Vice President of Global Pharmaceutical R&D, from June 2008 to September 2015. Shawn had also served as the Vice President of New Product Development at Akorn, Inc from April 2007 to June 2008. Prior to that, they held several director-level positions at Abbott Laboratories. Shawn began their career in academia as an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Shawn Silvestri has a diverse educational background that includes degrees in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. In 1985, they graduated from Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Pharmacy. Following this, they pursued a higher level of education and attended the University of Connecticut from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences. More recently, in 2017, Shawn Silvestri engaged in executive education at Harvard University. The specific field of study for this program is not provided.
