David Barreiro, P.E.

David Barreiro, P.E. has extensive work experience in the field of geotechnical engineering. David started their career at Law Engineering Testing Company in 1978, where they served as the Geotechnical Engineering Department Manager until 1983. From 1983 to 2003, they worked at K&B Consultants, Inc. as the President and Principal Geotechnical Engineer. Following that, they joined Universal Engineering Sciences in 2003 as the Engineering Division Manager until 2006. David then joined Nodarse & Associates, Inc. (Terracon) as the Branch Manager and Principal Geotechnical Engineer from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, David joined Thompson Engineering as the Principal Geotechnical Engineer until 2014. In the same year, they joined ECS Texas LLP as the Vice President and Branch Manager for a brief period of six months. Since 2014, they have been working at Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc. and has held various roles including Senior Project Manager, Senior Geotechnical Manager, and currently, Vice President - Geotechnical Services.

David Barreiro, P.E. completed their Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida at Gainesville, Florida, from 1974 to 1977. David later pursued a Master of Engineering in Geotechnical Engineering from the University of Florida from 1977 to 1978. In addition to their education, David has obtained several professional certifications. David became a Professional Engineer registered with the South Carolina State Board of Registration, the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board, the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, and the State of Alabama State Board of Licensure in 2011. David acquired their Professional Engineer certification from the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulation in 1982. David also holds a State of Florida Water Well Contractor certification from the State of Florida Water Management District, which they obtained in 1988.
