Tom Anelli is a Syracuse based criminal defense attorney who founded and grew Anelli Xavier, P.C. into the nation’s largest law firm focusing upon DWI defense, before leaving to open Tom Anelli & Associates, P.C., in April of 2017. Tom’s history as a defense attorney also includes appearing nationally as a regular legal commentator on Tru TV, and co-authoring the New York Edition of The DUI Book: A Citizen's Guide to Understanding DWI - DWI Litigation in America.. Tom is certified in the Science of Evidential Breath Alcohol Testing, and factory trained by the President of National Patent Analytical Systems, the company that makes the breathalyzer most used by local law enforcement agencies. He is also a NHTSA certified instructor of Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. In 2016, Tom traveled to San Diego, California to be trained as a Vistage Chair by Vistage, a company ranked 7th in the world in the training and development of CEO’s. In 2016, Tom danced in Syracuse’s Dancing with the Stars to benefit the Barnes Foundation. Tom is a member of Leadership Greater Syracuse’s Class of 2017. Tom received his B.A. degree from Syracuse University, his J.D. Degree from St. Thomas University School of Law, and was thereafter admitted to the New York State Bar Association in 1997.
