Dane Hazelbaker has a diverse work experience in the field of genomics and genome engineering. Dane is currently working at Tome Biosciences as the Director of Genomics since June 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Associate Director of Genomics at the same company from November 2021 to June 2022.
Before joining Tome Biosciences, Dane worked at Vor Biopharma where they served as the Principal Scientist for Genome Engineering and Group Leader of Molecular and Genomic Assays from November 2020 to October 2021. Dane also held the positions of Senior Scientist for Genome Engineering and Group Leader of Molecular and Genomic Assays from August 2020 to November 2020 and Senior Scientist for Genome Engineering from October 2019 to August 2020.
Earlier in their career, Dane worked at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard as a Research Scientist for Genome Engineering at The Stanley Center for Psychiatric Research. Dane was a Research Scientist II from January 2018 to October 2019 and a Research Scientist I from January 2016 to December 2017.
Dane also has experience working as a Guest Lecturer at Tufts Medical Center in 2011 and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Harvard Medical School from May 2008 to January 2016.
Dane Hazelbaker obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington, which they attended from 1997 to 2001. Dane then pursued further education at Brown University, where they received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry. Dane'sdoctoral studies at Brown University spanned from 2001 to 2008.
