Guthrie Paterson

Guthrie Paterson is currently the SVP of Legal & Finance at Tomo. Prior to this, Guthrie served as Vice President of Business Development at POPin from January 2013 to December 2015. There, Guthrie led the finance, operations, and legal functions for a SaaS start-up developing organizational health, collaboration, and crowdsourcing solutions for enterprise clients. From December 2010 to June 2017, Guthrie was Managing Director at InstantScale Capital, where they led investments, investor relations, legal, and compliance/risk management for a venture capital platform investing in emerging providers of enterprise hardware and software technology solutions. Finally, from September 2010 to July 2020, Guthrie served as Chief Development & Legal Officer at Trace3. In this role, Guthrie led corporate development, business development, legal, M&A integration, sales operations, and office services & facilities.

Over the course of their 10 years in various finance, legal, and operations leadership roles, Guthrie has gained a wealth of experience in delivering cloud, security, and data intelligence solutions to Fortune 1000 enterprise clients. Guthrie has successfully executed a high-growth business plan to create material enterprise value on multiple occasions. Some of their notable accomplishments include full P&L responsibility, growing a company from $100M to $1.2B+ in revenue / 100 to 900 employees, increasing EBITDA margins by 118%, and eliminating $10M+ of non-critical business lines and operating expenses. Guthrie has also been successful in resolving $30M+ of litigation claims with no adverse financial impact and successfully executing a majority leveraged recap PE investment. Finally, they have led the integration of a $300M+ Revenue / 300 employee add-on acquisition.

Guthrie Paterson received a BA in Political Science and Theirtory from Duke University. Guthrie then went on to earn their JD (Cum Laude) from SMU Dedman School of Law. Guthrie is also a certified lawyer in both California and New York.

Guthrie Paterson reports to Greg Schwartz, Co-Founder & CEO. and Eric Ho - VP, Finance reports to Guthrie Paterson. They work with Carey Schwaber Armstrong - Co-Founder & COO, Kim Rodgers - VP, Head of People, and Dan Koch - CTO.
