Phil Taylor

Phil Taylor serves as a Board Member at Waikato Chamber of Commerce and has been a Corporate/Commercial Partner at Tompkins Wake since August 2006. With extensive expertise in commercial and corporate law, Phil specializes in takeovers, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and venture capital, providing corporate advice to various entities, including listed companies and co-operatives. Phil also held leadership positions as Chairman and Deputy Chair at Sport Waikato from 2014 to December 2024. Prior experience includes roles at Fonterra as Legal Counsel/Strategic Commercial Manager, and as a Senior Lawyer at Gilbert + Tobin and Senior Associate at Buddle Findlay. Phil holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago, as well as a Post-Graduate Certificate in Finance and Valuation from FINSIA, and completed a Directors' development course at the Institute of Directors in New Zealand.
