Brian Prescott

Vice President, Cost Engineering And Project Management at TOMY International

Brian Prescott has extensive work experience in the toy industry, primarily in cost engineering and project management roles. Brian began their career at Compaq as a Hardware Engineer, specializing in hardware verification. Brian then worked at Mattel as a Hardware Costing Engineer, where they focused on preliminary electronics design and cost engineering for girls' toys. At Neurosmith Toys, Brian served as a Prototype Engineer, managing the lab and designing, building, and testing prototype electronics. Brian then joined Small World Toys as an Electrical Engineering Consultant, sourcing electronic parts and clarifying technical correspondence between design and engineering teams. Brian later worked at Jakks Pacific as the Senior Director of Cost Engineering and Planning, leading cost avoidance and reduction meetings, counseling marketing on cost of goods and tooling plans, and reviewing all bills of materials. Brian is currently employed at TOMY International, where they have held the positions of Director of Cost Engineering and Vice President of Cost Engineering and Project Management. In these roles, Brian estimates design and development expenses, negotiates costs with domestic vendors and manufacturers in China and Vietnam, and works with cross-functional teams to stay within budgets and financial goals.

Brian Prescott received a BSEE degree, majoring in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Physics, from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Brian completed their education in 1998.
