Christy Opeta has extensive experience in the education field, specifically in special education. Christy began their career as a Special Education Teacher at Washington County School District in 2004, where they worked until 2005. Christy then moved to TOOELE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, where they continued as a Special Education Teacher from 2005 to 2018. Following that, they served as an Administrative Intern from 2018 to 2020, and most recently, they became a School Principal in July 2020.
Christy Opeta completed their education at various institutions. Christy obtained a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Elementary and Middle School Administration/Principalship from Southern Utah University in the years 2015 to 2017. In 2011 to 2012, they received a certification in Wilson Language Level 1 from the U of U Reading Clinic (UURC). Christy earned an endorsement in Special Education k-12 from the University of Utah during 2003 to 2005. In 1999 to 2002, Christy Opeta completed their Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Utah State University. Christy started their education journey at Dixie State University from 1993 to 1999, where they pursued General Studies. Additionally, they obtained two certifications: Education Administrator/Supervisory K-12 from the State of Utah in June 2018 and Education: Professional Educator Certificate, Special Education K-12 from the State of Utah in June 2018.
