Renée Hetherington

Dr. Hetherington obtained her BA in business and economics from Simon Fraser University, her MBA from the University of Western Ontario (Western), and her Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in anthropology, biology, geology, and geography from the University of Victoria. She has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria, School of Environmental Studies since 2017 and a geological and business consultant since 2006. She is co-founder and CFO of RIT Minerals (RITM) Corp, a geological consulting and exploration firm in British Columbia, Canada. She ran for office as a Member of Parliament in 2011. Renée is the author of two books published by Cambridge University Press, along with numerous articles published in peer-reviewed scientific and literary journals. Renée’s experience in politics, finance, business, science, education, and resource development brings a unique and valuable perspective.
