Mehmet Yildirim has more than a decade of experience in various roles in the technology industry. Mehmet is currently working as the Machine Learning Engineering Lead at Tools for Humanity since 2022. Previously, they worked at Siemens as a Team Lead in Mapping and Computer Vision, and then as a Senior Research and Development Engineer from 2017 to 2022. Before Siemens, they co-founded Pergatech and served as the CTO, where they developed computer vision algorithms and software for their 3D stereo scanning system. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Research Assistant at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, focusing on hand detection and gesture recognition algorithms. Mehmet began their career as a Software Developer and GIS Specialist at Basarsoft, working on software development and data analysis for spatial data collection.
Mehmet Yildirim holds a M.Sc. degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation Science from Technische Universität Berlin, which they obtained from 2009 to 2012. Mehmet also has a BS degree from Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi / Middle East Technical University; however, the field of study for this degree is not specified. Additionally, they have obtained a certification as a Neo4j Certified Professional from Neo4j in 2022.
