John Cappelen

John Cappelen is a Climate Researcher Emeritus at the Danish Meteorological Institute, where tenure began in February 2022 after a career that spanned from December 1984 to January 2022, during which John Cappelen held various roles including Senior Climatologist, Data Management Specialist, Project Leader, Science Writer, and Editor. John Cappelen has contributed to the management and development of climatological databases and public relations efforts in climatology. Additionally, John Cappelen serves as a Rejseleder with Topas Travel and a Guide at Østsjællands museum since 2021. Notable international experience includes serving as Project Leader and Data Management Specialist for the North Atlantic Climatological Dataset between 1987 and 1997. John Cappelen holds a Master of Science degree in Physics and Geography from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen.
