Ted Knaak has extensive experience in the LiDAR industry. In 1993, they founded Riegl USA, which aimed to market and sell the Riegl LiDAR product line in North America. Ted served as the president and was the sole employee in the first year. In 2011, Knaak founded TopoDOT, a software application that specializes in extracting topography, 3D models, and features from point cloud data. Ted also founded Certainty 3D, which offers various software applications for laser scanning projects and topography mapping/surveying. Throughout their career, Knaak has focused on providing high-quality CAD deliverables and utilizing LiDAR technology in the civil infrastructure and topography mapping sectors.
Ted Knaak obtained a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) from Drexel University from 1987 to 1990. Ted also earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from Brown University from 1980 to 1982. Prior to this, they pursued their undergraduate studies at Brown University from 1976 to 1980, where they obtained degrees in Engineering (MSEE, MSME).
