Robin Gowin is the Technical Director at Topps. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at ConnectiveRx from August 2018 to June 2019, where they were a Consultant and did ETL Development in Python, SQL, PL/SQL, and bash for data migration, as well as database maintenance and updates. From July 2017 to June 2018, Robin was an Engineering Manager at The New York Times, leading the CMS Photos team which supports applications that power all photographs published in print newspaper and online web site. Robin migrated vendor applications and custom scripts from 2 Data Centers to AWS Cloud, developed a proof of concept next generation in-house photograph processing system, and led the effort to move 5 legacy photos applications from onsite data centers to AWS cloud. In their role, Robin also managed a team of 3 direct reports, plus QA, project manager, product manager, and support team. Additionally, they performed hands-on work including production support, monitoring, log analysis, mostly in Python and shell. Robin also managed third-party vendor relationships, status, contracts, and schedule while being responsible for production support. Robin developed monitoring scripts and started porting older legacy windows processing scripts to Linux.
Robin Gowin has a Master's of Engineering from Cornell University in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree from Stanford University in Mathematics.
