C.T. Strickland has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. C.T. started their career as a machinist at Newport News Shipbuilding, working there from 1984 to 1988. C.T. then transitioned to AC Corporation, where they worked as a sheet metal worker and welder from 1992 to 1997, before moving up to a CAD design and engineering role from 1997 to 2005. In 2004, Strickland founded their own business, CT Music Straps Inc., specializing in handcrafted leather and crystal guitar straps. C.T. also currently works at Topsider Homes as a Manufacturing Operations Estimator, where they are responsible for construction plan reviews, material take off, and generating reports for manufacturing and purchasing.
C.T. Strickland's education history includes attending North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University from 2004 to 2005 where they studied Architectural Engineering for 3 semesters. In 1996 to 1997, they obtained a 1-year certificate in Manufacturing Process/CAD from Rockingham Community College. In 1983 to 1987, they pursued a BA in Biblical Education from Tabernacle Baptist College & Theological Seminary. Additionally, they completed the Machinist Program at Beaufort County Community College in 1981 and studied Art/Design at East Carolina University from 1979 to 1980.
