Shane McLaughlin is an accomplished professional in safety data analysis with extensive experience in the transportation sector. Currently serving as the Director of Safety Data Analysis at Torc Robotics since May 2023, Shane previously owned Great Iris, LLC, where expertise in data integration and analysis was provided to various stakeholders in the transportation industry. At the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute from July 2001 to March 2022, Shane founded the Vehicle Motion and Context Team, co-founded the Division of Data and Analytics, and held multiple leadership roles, including Director of the Center for Automated Vehicle Systems. Earlier, Shane worked as a Research Engineer at Ford Motor Company, focusing on human factors for vehicle platforms. Shane holds a PhD, MS, and BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and a BS in Business Administration and Management from Virginia Tech and Virginia Commonwealth University, respectively.
