Jim Gessford

Jim Gessford is a highly experienced legal professional currently serving as Senior Counsel for Global Product Regulatory at The Toro Company since June 2014, where responsibilities include providing legal advice on global regulations affecting outdoor power and construction equipment and leading a team focused on product compliance. Previously, Jim held the position of Senior Attorney at the Internal Revenue Service from September 2008 to June 2014, offering legal guidance on complex federal income tax issues and representing the IRS in litigation before the United States Tax Court. Jim's career also includes roles as a Summer Associate at Skellenger Bender, PS, Law Clerk at The Toro Company and Ramsey County Office of the Public Defender, and Senior Engineer/Office Manager at Schaaf & Wheeler. Jim holds a JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and a BS, magna cum laude, in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Seattle University.
