Cristina Fernandes is currently the Executive Superintendent, Student Achievement, Innovation & Well-Being at Toronto Catholic District School Board. Prior to this, they served as the Superintendent of Special Services at Toronto Catholic District School Board from September 2005 to August 2018. In this role, they were responsible for proudly serving the needs of special students.

Cristina has dedicated their career to working in education and has been a strong advocate for students with special needs. Cristina is passionate about ensuring that all students have access to a quality education and is committed to making a difference in the lives of those they serve.

Cristina Fernandes has a Master of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto.

Cristina Fernandes reports to Brendan Browne, Director of Education. They work with Lynda Coulter - Executive Superintendent, Human Resources, Employee Relations, Leadership & Equity, Shawna Campbell - Executive Superintendent of Education (Area 3), Field Services & Early Years, and Michael Caccamo - Superintendent of Nurturing Our Catholic Community/Safe Schools/Continuing Education.
