Shirley Powell

Shirley Powell is an experienced HR professional with a strong background in compensation, benefits, and human resources information systems. Currently serving as the Director of HR Data Governance and Systems at Toronto Hydro since November 2009, Shirley has held various leadership roles including Director of HR Planning, Systems and Rewards, and Manager of Compensation, Benefits, and HRIS. Responsibilities include overseeing compensation and benefits programs for diverse staff and implementing HR software platforms. Prior to Toronto Hydro, Shirley held managerial roles at Federal Express Canada Ltd. and Novopharm Inc., focusing on the development of compensation and benefit programs as well as legislative compliance. Shirley started the career as Sr. Manager of Human Resources at Cadillac Fairview Corporation Ltd. Shirley's educational background includes a Business degree in Insurance from George Brown College and a Bachelor of Commerce from York University.
