Andrew Deacon, Ed.D. has a diverse work background in the education field. Andrew worked for Torrington Public Schools from 2014 to the present. Andrew'sroles at the district included serving as the Director of Intervention & Academic Support K-5 starting in August 2020, Assistant Principal at Vogel-Wetmore School from August 2018 to July 2020, Literacy Specialist K-5 from August 2017 to July 2018, Mathematics Coach & Interventionist from August 2016 to July 2017, and Grade 4 Teacher from August 2014 to July 2016. In addition to their work at Torrington Public Schools, Andrew also worked as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Bridgeport starting in May 2018. Prior to that, they served as a Grade 2 Teacher at Colebrook Consolidated School from June 2012 to July 2014.

Andrew Deacon, Ed.D. obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Manhattanville College in 2008. In 2011, they earned a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport. Andrew went on to complete a Sixth-Year Degree in Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts at the University of Bridgeport from 2015 to 2017. In 2019, they obtained their Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Bridgeport. Andrew recently pursued further certification, earning a 093 CT Superintendent Certification from Sacred Heart University in 2024. In addition to their degrees, Deacon holds various certifications including 092 Intermediate Administration & Supervision, 102 Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts 1-12, and 013 Elementary Education K-6, obtained from the Connecticut State Department of Education.
