Zahra Derafshi has extensive experience as a hardware electrical design engineer, researcher, and lecturer. Zahra most recently worked as the Head of Hardware Computing at Torus and previously held roles at Sonos, Inc. and Aptiv. Zahra also worked as a research assistant at the University of Illinois Chicago and Micro Electronics and Micro Sensor Laboratory. Additionally, Zahra worked as a teaching assistant at the University of Illinois Chicago and as a lecturer at Azad University and the University of Tabriz. Their expertise includes designing and developing hardware for various systems, developing new technologies for diagnosing degenerative eye diseases, and teaching students how to design and develop functional electrical circuits.
Zahra Derafshi obtained a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Tabriz from 2008 - 2011. Zahra later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago from 2012 - 2016. Zahra has also obtained additional certifications in Advanced PCB design for EMC + Signal integrity and Applying Practical EMI design and troubleshooting techniques from Silent Solutions LLC - Design, Troubleshooting, and Training for the Control of Electrical Noise in June 2020.
