John Sutherland has a diverse work experience in the tourism and travel industry. John is currently the Director of Community Impact at Tourism Cares. Prior to this role, they worked at Collette for several years, starting as a Product Lead for UK and Ireland before transitioning to Corporate Social Responsibility Manager and eventually becoming the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility. In this position, they were responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive CSR platform, overseeing a team and volunteer program, managing a philanthropy budget, and improving environmental and social impact. Additionally, they led Collette's COVID response efforts by setting up and managing a call center for residents. Before joining Collette, John worked at Stanford Travel/Study as a Lead Associate, where they handled customer interfaces and managed a reservations administrative position.

John Sutherland started their education at Saint John's High School from 1998 to 2002, where they completed their high school education. John then attended Georgetown University from 2002 to 2007, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on History and Classics. Following that, John pursued a Master of Arts degree in Classics at Stanford University, attending from 2007 to 2011. In 2020 to 2021, they furthered their education by completing an Executive MBA program at Quantic School of Business and Technology, specializing in Business.
